| Black smoke can occur on light
duty applications (1/2 Ton) when the EGR valve malfunctions. The
EGR valve is located under the air cleaner in the center of the
intake manifold on light duty applications and is operated with
vacuum. Vacuum lines as well as the EGR itself should be checked
when excessive smoke exists. |
