| Installing
Transmission Temp Sender on Chevy & Dodge Transmissions
One option is to replace the transmission pan with a pan that already has a port for the temperature sender but in order to read the actual transmission oil temperature in the transmission pan of a Chevy or Dodge you must first install a bushing in the pan to accommodate the sender. When doing this we follow the following steps: 1. Remove transmission oil pan being careful to catch all the oil and dispose of it properly. 2. Remove pan gasket and filter and dispose of properly. 3. Carefully inspect cover and transmission to locate a position where the bushing will have clearance on the inside of the transmission. 4. Drill a hole in the previously determined location in the pan. 5. Braze a bushing on the outside of the pan at the drilled hole. The sender in the Isspro kit is 1/8" NPT but has bushings for adapting it to ¼", 3/8", and ½" NPT threaded hole so most any bushing will work. 6. Check closely for any possible leaks at brazed surface. 7. Replace filter and pan gasket and reinstall pan. 8. Install sender into bushing. 9. Fill with proper amount of preferred transmission fluid. 10. Check system for leaks.
